COVID VACCINE MANDATE

For the safety of our neighbors (clients), volunteers, and employees, HCS Family Services will be implementing the following COVID Vaccination Policy effective February 1, 2022.

At HCS Family Services, our mission of reducing hunger and improving self-sufficiency is as important as ever. To provide food for our hungry neighbors (clients), we must provide a safe working environment for our neighbors, volunteers, and employees.

Consistent with our commitment to provide and maintain a safe workplace, HCS Family Services has adopted this policy to safeguard the health and well-being of neighbors, volunteers, and employees. This policy is intended to comply with all state and local laws and is based upon the guidance provided by the CDC and public health officials.

No volunteer or employee who is not fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, will be admitted to the pantry or its offices. Proof of vaccination must be provided prior to entry. For the safety of others, no exemptions from this policy will be granted.

Implementation of policy for HCS employees: HCS requires all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon hire and annually in accordance with published CDC guidelines.

While best practices regarding COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines are changing rapidly, HCS reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, as we adapt to changing circumstances and new information. Our mask mandate will remain in effect.

Obtaining and distributing nearly 600,000 pounds of food a year is truly a community effort. With just three full-time and two part time employees and a part-time office assistant, HCS Family Services relies on close to 100 volunteers each week to help us in our mission of ensuring all our neighbors have access to healthy, nutritious food.

These volunteers greet pantry guests, pick up donations from local retailers in the food pantry’s iconic red and white vans, unload deliveries, sort food, stock shelves and assist pantry guests at distribution events.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your community, and at HCS Family Services, we have opportunities for teens and adults.
